New Covenant Preschool Curriculum

Christian Education: Through Bible stories, versus, songs and prayer, children will see themselves and others as children of God.

Art: Creative Expression is encouraged through the use of crayons, easels, paints, chalk, wood, clay and paste.

Language: Learning new vocabulary and means of self-expression form the basis for future learning.

Reading Readiness: Activities are included to develop letter recognition, memory, left-right movement, sequencing, rhyming and attention span.

Math Readiness: Counting, classifying, measurement and recognizing numerals provide a good math foundation.

Physical Development: Through the use of clay, scissors and peg boards, the child will develop fine motor control. Music class provides creative movement with songs and rhythm instruments and enhances gross motor development and recognition of body parts. Playground time is planned daily, weather permitting.

Conceptual Development: Colors, shapes, days and months, and specific weekly units allow the child to perceive the world around them.

Social Development: Opportunities are provided to develop independence, sharing, conflict resolution, group interaction, cooperation, and good working and eating habits.
