The phrase “For Such A Time As This,” comes from Ester 4:14. It speaks of a moment of opportunity. It speaks of being God’s people in that moment. Ester recognized her call in that moment, and as a result of her being God’s person in that moment, saved the Jewish people from annihilation.
At New Covenant our mission statement “transformation for the sake of others,” is lived out through the philosophy of every member ministering. The “ing” in “ministering” means now, present, not someday down the road when we have it all together.
Again the moment of opportunity is now. 1 Thessalonians 4:12 says, “don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers, in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” We believe the opportunity for our students to minister is now! We are building a Student Ministry not a youth group, so we invite you to come and pursue God and see how He uses you, FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!
Student Ministry at New Covenant Consists of JC456 and the Asylum
The JC456 student group is designed specifically for 4th,5th, and 6th graders to meet their special needs during these transition years from child to teenager. JC456 meets the first and third Sunday of each month from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Parish Hall. There are also ongoing activities for JC456 students throughout the year.
The older student group (grades 7th through 12th) is called "The Asylum" because it is a place where teens can "Come and Get Committed" for Christ. The Asylum meets every Sunday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the building with the wood deck out front. The first Sunday of each month we enjoy dinner together with the JC456 group. Bring a friend.
Our student ministry is led by Erica Stephenson, Minister of Youth and Family Life, with the invaluable help of an amazing group of committed adult staff volunteers.
