The Asylum-Youth Ministry
Asylum Student Ministries at New Covenant Church desires to create community for students in 7th-12th grades to develop in relationship with God and others. Our main gathering time is on Sunday nights from 6 - 8PM. We “Pursue Him Together” through games, worship, snacks, discussion and community! We have dinner together on the first Sunday of each month. Check out more opportunities to engage with our community below! We go on adventure days, retreat weekends, summer missions opportunities, and more!
Mission Interact is a summer camp where High School and Middle School students from over 30 local churches come together to accomplish local mission projects. Mission Interact was started in 2007 by a group of concerned volunteers serving in student ministry from local churches whose vision was to see Christian students look beyond denominational labels and grow together as a body of believers and especially to connect to other Christians in their schools. This year the High School week is July 19-25 and Middle School is July 22-25.
Mission Interact is an overnight camp hosted at local churches and each day students are partnered with other believers from their schools to accomplish ministry tasks in a variety of settings from children’s Vacation Bible School to elder encouragement in local nursing homes or even yard work for shut-ins. It fits perfectly with our “For Such A Time As This” vision for the New Covenant Student Ministries.
The New Covenant Student Ministry is growing in its mission journeys following the philosophy as outlined in Acts 1:8 “ ...but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
Each year the Asylum students are challenged to get out of their comfort zone and stretch a little further as we reach to meet ministry needs further and further from home. In the summer of 2013 our call was to the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky where we stripped and reroofed a home in need of repair.
