The Asylum-Youth Ministry (7th-12th Grades)
Every Sunday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the Modular
On Sunday nights, 7th-12th grade students meet together and form "The Asylum." Our motto is "Come and Get Committed" and that is just what you are invited to do. We start the evening with an awesome group game or activity and enjoy some super snacks (dinner on the first Sunday of the month). Then we join together for student led worship, a Bible study lesson, small group discussions and prayer. There is always a challenge to go deeper in our walk with Christ. Come be a part of this fun group of students!
Metamorphosis – “Morph”
Wednesday nights 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
On Wednesdays Asylum students come to Morph, an in depth Bible Study and Discipleship program. Here students can take the next step in their spiritual growth through inductive Bible study, discussion and prayer for true transformation. We meet in the same building Asylum meetings are held in.
During the summer months - MORPH becomes Water & Word!
Water & Word is a combo - Bible Study, Pool party and Dinner!! SO FUN! We meeting a different home each Wednesday night from 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM and enjoy a time of fellowship and fun. Check out the Calendar to see where W&W is this week.
Mission Interact is a summer camp where High School and Middle School students from over 30 local churches come together to accomplish local mission projects. Mission Interact was started in 2007 by a group of concerned volunteers serving in student ministry from local churches whose vision was to see Christian students look beyond denominational labels and grow together as a body of believers and especially to connect to other Christians in their schools. This year the High School week is July 19-25 and Middle School is July 22-25.
Mission Interact is an overnight camp hosted at local churches and each day students are partnered with other believers from their schools to accomplish ministry tasks in a variety of settings from children’s Vacation Bible School to elder encouragement in local nursing homes or even yard work for shut-ins. It fits perfectly with our “For Such A Time As This” vision for the New Covenant Student Ministries.
The New Covenant Student Ministry is growing in its mission journeys following the philosophy as outlined in Acts 1:8 “ ...but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
Each year the Asylum students are challenged to get out of their comfort zone and stretch a little further as we reach to meet ministry needs further and further from home. In the summer of 2013 our call was to the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky where we stripped and reroofed a home in need of repair. In the summer of 2014 a number of our students are going to Guatemala.
