Summary

Fr. Christopher talks about the story of Zacchaeus from Luke 19. It highlights how Jesus came to find and save those who are lost and how meeting Jesus can change your life. It shows Jesus' kindness and how he invites everyone to be saved, no matter what society thinks of them or their personal flaws.

Luke writes to Theophilus to help him embrace his new identity in Christ, strengthen his faith, and join in God's mission. Saint Luke is known for his vivid storytelling. He paints clear pictures of characters like Zacchaeus to share spiritual lessons.

Zacchaeus, a short and wealthy chief tax collector who wasn't liked by many, wanted to see Jesus but couldn't because of his height and the crowd. To solve this, Zacchaeus ran ahead and climbed a sycamore fig tree to get a better view of Jesus passing through Jericho.

Jesus called Zacchaeus down and insisted on staying at his house, surprising everyone since Zacchaeus was seen as a sinner. Touched by Jesus' presence, Zacchaeus promised to give half his possessions to the poor and repay anyone he had cheated four times over, going beyond what was required. Jesus said that he came to find and save the lost, focusing on salvation rather than judgment, and recognized Zacchaeus as a true son of Abraham.

Fr. Christopher encourages the church to remove barriers that stop people from seeing Jesus, affirming that everyone is a beloved child of God and that Jesus seeks them with love and salvation.
